The NBA has decided to require a special marriage license for players who have married a non-NBA player.
The league also plans to require officiating in cases of same-sex marriage.
The NBA will require a separate license for officiating same-gender marriages in a matter of days.
Players who have not been married for at least five years must also obtain a separate marriage license.
It is not known how many players would qualify.
Players will be required to provide a marriage license, but the league did not say how many licenses would be issued.
The NBA also said it will expand the number of officiating positions for its All-Star Game in 2020.
Players, coaches and officials will be allowed to officate games as many as 10 times per year.
The players are not required to officide in all games.
The NBA is a league of 25 teams.
In 2018, players, coaches, executives and others who have officiated in more than one NBA game won the right to officiated games at a later date.
They have until March 31, 2020 to apply.
