By Andrew Harnik, The Associated PressA Georgia law school graduate could earn nearly $1 million in the United States in the next two decades, according to a report by the National Association of College Admission Counselors.
The median starting salary for a law school grad is $73,500 and a law firm’s average salary is $92,000, according the association.
A law school associate earns $76,000 and a senior associate earns nearly $80,000.
Law school graduates also are more likely to work for the government, work in finance and have an average annual salary of $102,000 according to the report.
The national average for a person with a bachelor’s degree is $74,000 in the U.S., according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The median starting wage for someone with a law degree is about $74.50, according, the AP reported.
Law schools are also becoming more competitive.
The number of students graduating each year is increasing, with more than 11,000 entering each year, the National Law Journal reported in December.
A large percentage of graduates of Georgia’s law schools are from Southern states, the Associated Press reported.
