You may have had your divorce approved, but the process can take longer than expected.
The time you’ll need to get your divorce papers approved varies depending on how long you’ve had the relationship.
You’ll need: Your address on file with the NSW Department of Family and Community Services.
A copy of your partner’s driving licence.
If you’ve got no children, your partner must also provide proof that they are the sole carer of your children.
If you have children, the mother of your two children must also present proof that she is the sole parent of the children.
How much time it takes to get the papers approved depends on how many people are involved.
Depending on your situation, it can take up to six months to get all of your divorce documents approved.
